The Importance of Junior Golf


Welcome Junior Golfers!

We have lots of exciting activities available for every playing level! We invite you to become part of the fun!

Richmond Country Club has supported family-related activities and programs, such as junior golf, since the Club’s opening in 1958. Our junior programs are inclusive of all children, members, non-members and friends.

RCC Junior Golf Programs

Our Junior Program Membership permits an unlimited number of memberships to children and grandchildren of our Adult Members.

We also have thirty-five (35) non-affiliated Junior Program Memberships available to outside Juniors, aged 12 – 18 years, who do not have any Adult affiliation with Richmond Country Club.

These thirty-five (35) Junior Program Memberships are for our golf facilities only and do not include any additional programs or facility access (Fitness, Tennis, Social).

All Members in the Junior Program Membership must earn their privileges, through a series of seminars, written and physical testing:

  • Level 1 – Restricted Practice Area and course access 90-minutes prior to dusk

    • Attend a New Member Orientation and pass the Club Standards & Privileges exam to earn Level 2 privileges

 

  • Level 2 – Participate in any of the Junior Program Members Instructional / Coaching Clinics

    • Attend a Game Procedures and Etiquette seminar, pass the written test and successfully pass a 5-hole playing test to earn Level 3 privileges

 

  • Level 3 – 9-hole playing privileges, 3-hours prior to dusk plus participation in the Wednesday Eclectic (Spring / Summer series) and Parent & Child Tournament

    • Attend a Basic Rules seminar, pass the Basic Rules & Handicap exam and successfully pass a 9-hole playing test to earn Level 4 privileges

 

  • Level 4 – Restricted 18-hole playing privileges and participation in the Monthly Major Stroke Play tournaments

    • Pass the Tournament Rules exam, complete 5-hour volunteer to earn Level 5 privileges

 

  • Level 5 - Eligible to play in the Junior Club Championship (36-hole Stroke Play – August 20-21, 2025) and may apply for financial assistance to participate in Provincial & National Golf Championships

Our existing non-affiliated Junior Program Members, who have achieved Level 3 and completed their annual volunteer requirements, will receive an invitation to renew their Membership for the following season, with application forms for the current season being submitted on, or before January 31st.

Any unsold non-affiliated Junior Program Memberships that are not renewed by our existing Junior Program Members, will be sold to those on our WAITING LIST, effective February 1st, with privileges commencing March 1st.

Once all thirty-five Memberships have been sold, we will start a new WAITING LIST for the following seasons Junior Program Memberships.

June, July & August - Saturday & Sunday Evenings

Boys & Girls ages 5 - 11 
BUDDY CLINICS
Starting in May and thru the end of September, our PGA of Canada Professional Staff will be hosting a Saturday morning "BUDDY" Clinics.

Bring your son or daughter, ages 5-11 for an hour of instruction on swinging, chipping, pitching and bunker play.

Register in with the Golf Shop or by using the Tee Time portal on the RCC website or app, up to one-week in advance.

FAMILY GOLF
During June, July and August, RCC will be providing forward tee placements on Saturday and Sunday evenings for the benefit of family golf. 

Member Families with children between the age of 5-11 may play the course within 2 1/2 hours of dusk. 

Special scorecards will be available for the forward tee settings. 

Adults pay appropriate fees (green fee, carts, rental clubs, etc.)

Club Standards will apply to Family Golf Nights and children with their own golf sets will be allowed to play at no charge.
