The Importance of Junior Golf


Welcome Junior Golfers!

We have lots of exciting activities available for every playing level! We invite you to become part of the fun!

Richmond Country Club has supported family-related activities and programs, such as junior golf, since the Club’s opening in 1958. Our junior programs are inclusive of all children, members, non-members and friends.

RCC Junior Golf Programs

Boys & Girls (ages 11 - 18)

This program is for experience players, who have taken previous instruction and are looking to get out onto the golf course.

Program dates are March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025 and include education on game procedures, etiquette plus an in introduction to competition.

Members earn their range and playing privileges with the completion of both written and physical testing.

2024 Level I - CN Future Links White

Boys & Girls (ages 4-7): 
This is the first step in a junior golfer’s pathway. Participation and fundamental movement skills are the key components.

RCC Curriculum: Introduction to golf shots, SNAG golf, & physical coordination.

  • Cost: Members: $75, for any monthly program (4 sessions). Students are recommended to sign up for multiple monthly sessions.

  • Time: 30 min. sessions Saturday's @3:00pm

  • April Session Dates: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
  • May Session Dates: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
  • June Session Dates: 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th no session on 15th
  • July Session Dates: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
  • Sept. Session Dates: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th

2024 Level II - CN Future Links Orange

Boys & Girls (ages 8-11): 
At this stage, juniors will focus on increasing their scope and on developing their golf skills. Developing athleticism remains a priority in preparation for playing more golf.

RCC Curriculum: Introduction to the fundamentals of golf, start using regular golf clubs, & exercises for physical literacy.

  • Cost: Members: $85, for any monthly program (4 sessions). Students are recommended to sign up for multiple monthly sessions.

  • Time: 40 min. sessions at 3:50pm

  • April Session Dates: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
  • May Session Dates: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
  • June Session Dates: 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th no session on 15th
  • July Session Dates: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
  • Sept. Session Dates: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th

2024 Level IV - CN Future Links Black

Boys & Girls (ages 12-15):
At this stage, the junior golfer will be more consistent and have a higher level of skill execution, and will also have a better understanding of how developing the whole person will improve golf performance. Upon completion of this stage, the junior golfer will be ready to move on to RCC’s full Junior Golf Program.
 
Cost: SPRING SESSIONS - Member $229  Guests $299

Players must commit to one of these 12-session group lesson programs.

No compensation or pro-rates fees for unattended sessions.

Re-scheduling for dangerous weather or unforeseen circumstance are at the discretion of the Golf Professional. 

Additional sessions will be added to oversubscribed dates.

Players may attend any of the JUNIOR PROGRAM MEMBERS education clinics - dates will be forwarded at registration.

Jr. Girls Group Lessons (ages 9+)

The Junior Girls Group Lesson series are designed to provide a fun, social atmosphere in which to learn. The curriculum will include a combination of physical activities, golf skills, etiquette and rules.

Cost: $129 Members / $169 Non-Affiliated for all 8 sessions (There is no cost to girls already in the full Junior Program.) 

Dates: Saturdays 2:00 pm

April sessions: 27th
May sessions: 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
June sessions: 1st, 8th, and 22nd

*Semi-Private (2-3 students) and Private Group Lessons (4+) are also available upon request.

June, July & August - Saturday & Sunday Evenings

Boys & Girls ages 5 - 11 
BUDDY CLINICS
Starting in May and thru the end of September, our PGA of Canada Professional Staff will be hosting a Saturday morning "BUDDY" Clinics.

Bring your son or daughter, ages 5-11 for an hour of instruction on swinging, chipping, pitching and bunker play.

Register in with the Golf Shop or by using the Tee Time portal on the RCC website or app, up to one-week in advance.

FAMILY GOLF
During June, July and August, RCC will be providing forward tee placements on Saturday and Sunday evenings for the benefit of family golf. 

Member Families with children between the age of 5-11 may play the course within 2 1/2 hours of dusk. 

Special scorecards will be available for the forward tee settings. 

Adults pay appropriate fees (green fee, carts, rental clubs, etc.)

Club Standards will apply to Family Golf Nights and children with their own golf sets will be allowed to play at no charge.
